Super Deluxe Stylophone - Help
What is a Stylophone?
A sleek, modern, browser-based stylophone synthesizer powered by the Web Audio API. Play and experiment with different waveforms, octave shifts, sustain mode, and live pitch control using a stylish slider interface. Great for quick musical sketches, learning synthesis, or just making cool sounds!
Controls
Pitch Slider: Click and drag the large slider to play notes. The pitch changes as you move the stylus (your mouse cursor).
Sustain (Spacebar): Hold the spacebar to sustain the last note you played, even after releasing the mouse button or key.
Keyboard Control: The first 16 voices can be played with keyboard keys:
Bottom Row: Z, X, C, V, B, N, M
Home Row: A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K, L
Octave Shift (Up/Down Arrows): Use the ▲ and ▼ arrow keys to shift the octave of the most recently used voice up or down. The selected voice is highlighted with a blue outline.
Add Voice: Click the "Add Voice" button to create a new, independent synthesizer voice.
Wave: Change the waveform (timbre) of the sound for each voice. Options include standard shapes (Square, Sine) and more complex ones like FM and PWM.
Volume: Adjust the volume for each individual voice.
Octave +/-: Click the '+' and '-' buttons to change the octave for that specific voice.
Snap: When checked, the pitch slider will "snap" to the nearest musical note, making it easier to play in tune.
